A Study of Histopathological Changes in Fallopian Tubes in Ectopic Pregnancy
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim: The study was conducted with the aim of studying histopathological changes in ectopic pregnancy in the fallopian tube and correlate them with clinical history. Methodology: Fifty cases of tubal ectopic were studied retrospectively to compare the histopathological changes in the lining of fallopian tube. Routine haematoxylin and eosin stain with special stains were employed to study the sections. Ratio of ciliated to secretory cells was calculated. Associated inflammation and other pathology was also studied. Results: Out of 50 cases studied majority of ectopics were on right side and presented at less than 8 weeks of gestation. Most common age group to be affected was between 28-32 yrs. Around 28 of cases had previous history of surgeries and 14% previous ectopic or abortions. We also noted a significant degree of deciliation in the tubal lining with maximum number of cases showing deciliation in fimbrial ectopics. Significant number of cases showed association with salpingitis isthmica nodosa (22%) and inflammation was seen in three fourths of all cases. Conclusion: The study highlights the association with deciliation in tubal ectopics and also the significant association with inflammation and abdominal interventions

P-186: The Expression of IL-6Ra in Fallopian Tubes and Ectopic Pregnancy
Background: IL-6 is a proinflammatory and immunoregulatory cytokine to be very high in endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease, which are known risk factors for ectopic pregnancy(EP). The effects of IL-6 on target cells occur via the formation of a high-affinity complex with IL-6Ra that expressed in the cilia of the epithelial cells. In the present study,we compared expression of IL-6Ra i...
متن کاملmRNA Expression of VEGF and Its Receptors in Fallopian Tubes of Women with Ectopic Pregnancies
Background Establishment of viable pregnancy requires embryo implantation and placentation. Ectopic pregnancy (EP) is a pregnancy complication which occurs when an embryo implants outside of the uterine cavity, most often in a fallopian tube. On the other hand, an important aspect of successful implantation is angiogenesis. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a potent angiogenic factor...
متن کاملP-223: The Expression of Gp130 in Fallopian Tubes with Ectopic Tubal Gestation
Background: The transmembrane protein gp130 plays a central role in cytokine action as a signal transducing receptor subunit common to all interleukin-6 type cytokines. The expression of IL-6 is significantly increased near the implantation site in tubes with ectopic gestation as compared with normal. Thus, current study was designed to investigated the expression of gp130 in fallopian tubes wit...

متن کاملP-64: Innate Immune System Importance in Ectopic Pregnancy with Emphasis on TLR4 Gene
Background: In an ectopic pregnancy (EP) the egg does not reach to the uterus, but instead implants somewhere outside it, usually in fallopian tube. In most cases the exact cause of an ectopic pregnancy is unknown but it is often a result of some sort of damage to the fallopian tube. The tube may have become blocked or narrowed by previous surgery or infection. An active immune system need to r...
